I stared out. Wondering what I would see. But no one could predict what I would be looking at when I looked through it. Everyone said that it was just a myth. And I believed them, until I saw it with my own eyes. The Window. Not just any window. It was powerful; if you looked through it, it would show you your true self. Another being. No one could ever figure me out. I didn't know who I truly was. But I waned to. It was the one thing that I wanted most. More than anything in the world.
I tried to keep calm while I was tentatively walking towards the dilapidated old house. I swallowed the lump in my throat, and held it together best I could. No one had told me that it would be this hard. I didn't expect to be this hesitant. I leaned to the left as I was walking on the sidewalk. Towards the truth. Towards my future. My heart skipped a beat when I finally looked upon the house. It looked as if it were straight out of an episode of "The Twilight Zone." But I sucked in my breath. Maybe my last, and took the first steps of the rest of my life. Or not...
Interesting! I like the whole idea of the window. You described everything well, and used great vocabulary! Did you base this on anything or did you come up with the idea by yourself?
ReplyDeleteKathryn-I was reading a book about a mirror similar to this, but it didn't show anything, it actually was made by a magician, who was retired, but made magic mirrors. And the glass part was actually liquid, but never spilled. The main character put her face through it and almost became possessed by the mirror spirits that lived in it. It is a great book, It's called "The Water Mirror". I recommend it. It's a truly interesting book. It takes place in Ancient Italy.
ReplyDeleteWow, that sounds pretty cool. I'll have to read that eventually.
ReplyDeleteWhat the FlapJack!!! That is awesome!!! How did you even come up with that???
ReplyDeleteThat's just how I do.
